Cedric Black Eagle

Dr. Cedric Black Eagle is thrilled to work with the CannaNative team. He served as the Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Crow Tribe of Montana from 2004 to 2012. Immediately following these roles, Mr. Black Eagle formed Black Eagle Enterprise International, serving as the company’s president.
Dr. Black Eagle was born and raised in “The Valley of the Chiefs” district of the Crow Nation. He attended Little Big Horn College, studying business administration and Indian law. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Humanities from Kayiwa International University, given at Kampala, Uganda on August 30, 2013. Dr. Black Eagle was instrumental in negotiating the Crow Nation Indian Water Rights Settlement, and was appointed Chairman of the Crow Water Rights Team, negotiating Crow Nation water rights against the State of Montana and the Department of Interior Water Rights in Washington, DC.
Dr. Black Eagle was elected Vice Chairman of the Crow Nation Executive Branch in the fall of 2004 and was re-elected in 2008. He served on the negotiating team for the Crow Nation’s $7.5 billion Coal To Liquids (CTL) project between Australian Energy America in 2008 completing definitive agreements. Dr. Black Eagle continues to serve as a consultant to Indian tribes on Indian economic development projects, Indian water rights, and Indian energy projects. In the spring of 2008, Sonny and Mary Black Eagle adopted (then) Senator Barack Obama and who later became the 47th President of the United States.
Dr. Black Eagle is the son to Sonny and Mary Black Eagle of Lodge Grass Montana. He is married to Audrey Black Eagle and has been blessed with four sons, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
