Andy Nakai

Mr. Andy Nakai is a member of the Navajo Nation and is fluent in the Dine language. Andy has worked with numerous Native American tribes throughout the United States to create economic development opportunities on their reservations. Over the years, Mr. Nakai has created strong relationships and bonds with every tribes he has worked with.

Mr. Nakai’s passion is to create and develop economies on reservations all across the country. Since 2008, Andy has served as the president and owner of Native Consultants Advisors in Orem, Utah. Before 2008, Mr. Nakai was a Vice President with Canyon National Bank. Mr. Nakai served as a Board Member for the Navajo Partnership for Housing for the Navajo Nation and as board member for American Indian Services to help Native American students who cannot afford higher education. In addition, Mr. Nakai is currently serving as the Vice Chairman for the Board of Directors for Navajo CDFI, which is poised to be the largest Native CDFI for Indian Country.

Mr. Nakai’s experience is central to CannaNative’s mission. Andy is a graduate of the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and studied finance at the graduate school at the University of Utah. He was a guest speaker at New Mexico Native American Economic Summit School, speaking on economic development challenges on Indian reservations. He began working with tribal economics and finance issues in 1995, and has represented more than thirty tribes and tribal enterprises ever since.
